Start: Old Boy Scouts Campground
Upon setting out, runners will immediately cross Highway 79 and then run on trail along Cuyamaca Lake. After passing through Los Caballos Campground, runners will begin the climb to Stonewall Peak before dropping down into Paso Picacho Campground. Paso Picacho Aid Station #1: Mile 6 Leaving Paso Picacho, runners will begin their climb to Middle Peak along Azalea Springs Fire Road. Looping around North Middle Peak Trail, runners will then drop into Big Bend aid station near the start/finish area. Big Bend Aid Station #2: Mile 12 Runners will briefly retrace their steps upon leaving Big Bend before connecting into the South Loop of Middle Peak Loop Trail. Crossing Milk Ranch Road, runners will soon connect unto Conejos Trail and their climb up to Cuyamaca Peak and their next aid station. Cuyamaca Peak Aid Station #3: Mile 18 Leaving Cuyamaca Peak via Burnt Pine Trail, runners will wind and connect onto West Mesa Fire Road as they descend into their next aid station. South Middle Peak Loop Trail. Cold Stream Aid Station #4: Mile 24.6 (There is an 8 Hour--2 P.M.--Cut-Off.) Crossing Highway 79, runners turn onto Cold Stream Trail and head north, around the base of Stonewall Peak, and then connecting back onto trail taking them once again along the shores of Cuyamaca Lake and the finish. NOTE: There is a 10 Hour (4 P.M.) Finish Line Requirement. There is an 8 Hour Cut-Off at the Cold Stream Aid Station.
