Come join us on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Entries are now available. 50 kilometer run through mostly beautiful single track trail in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. You will run along the banks of beautiful Cuyamaca Lake and then climb Stonewall (elev. 5730'), Middle (elev. 5883'), and Cuyamaca (elev. 6512') Peaks. The trails up and down from these peaks consist of some of our favorites from over the many years we have been running out at Cuyamaca. The views are incredible and the deer and turkeys plentiful. Make note the temperture is likely to be hot in July. And with the fire from a few year ago and the recent clearing of burnt trees, you will be exposed to the sun. So this run is for those of you who are experienced and well-trained. While we will have conveniently located aid stations throughout the course, you are advised to carry at least a couple of bottles of water.
There is a 10 hour finish line (4 P.M.) requirement for the run. Only cut-off is at Cold Stream aid station: 2 P.M. (8 hours). Early start is available. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. We think you are really going to enjoy this beautiful and challenging run. Hope to see you in July!
